Miss Maximoff, I was hoping to take a moment of your time. I had a question.

Of course. And you can just call me Wanda.

[That's not quite...well she's definitely not a 'Miss' anymore, but Vision didn't take her last name either. They're a bit of an unusual couple.]

[It's hard to not know human culture enough to really understand who gets what things appended on to which names. But to be allowed to call her Wanda makes Lauri-Ell smile on her side. Perhaps it comes through in her voice.]

Ah, of course. Wanda. I was hoping to gain some insight into an aspect of human culture and felt that, while there are others who may be able to answer the question for me, it may be best directed to you given associations with the reason I am asking.

Do humans truly have a culture where you have celebrations of the anniversary of your coming into the world?

[It does, and Wanda's glad that Lauri-Ell accepts. 'Miss' or 'Mrs. Maximoff' just sounds so...formal. Not her at all.]

We do. It can be different in different parts of the world but there is usually something.

Whose birthday is it?

[But formal designations of relationships that have not yet been codified in friendly terms is appropriate. Good thing she was told to use Wanda early. She's still having trouble not calling Billy 'William' or 'Your Highness'.]

It has not occurred yet, but I wished to understand how one of these celebrations takes place so I may plan for one. All plans of attack, as the Kree well know, should be planned in advance to allow for time for preparation, even though engagements will often change things.

So I have attempted to allot myself sufficient time for preparations for William and Thomas, even if I understand I have a few months. Though this new place, it may have things I require, and if I do not know what they are then how shall I know I need to get them?

[...okay. It makes sense why someone would come to her.]

It may take a while to find or make a good gift. We can't exactly go shopping and if you ask the Agrii, you will probably just get something strange.

I think they would like a nice dinner and a party with their friends. And we have to make a cake.

There's a song the Americans sing, but I don't remember the words.

[Oh yes, she is coming to Wanda specifically because she is Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch to be, and while not their mother, still a human that knew them personally.]

Dinner. Yes, I can talk to Clarice for assistance with this. And it is easy to invite people. But what is a cake? And singing? Wait, I think Star Lord mentioned Singing. Perhaps he knows American Songs.

A cake is a round baked dessert. It's covered in frosting, and for birthdays you put little candles on it.

[To her credit, Wanda takes Lauri-Ell not knowing about cake or singing and the mention of this "Star Lord" in stride. It's not even top 10 weirdest things she's heard since being kidnapped.]

Singing is... [Um. Put on the stop, she sings a few bars of a Sokovian folk song.] The Kree don't do that?

[On the spot is where she finds she puts a lot of people. If she realized it was awkward she would apologize.]

Baked like pizza? [Good thing she doesn't know about dessert pizzas. She would never want anything else.]

Oh! Sustained auditory output. I heard some of that in the fake world. Kree do not have many songs I think. I could be wrong. I am not a normal Kree. But we have been at war for a great many eons. Things may be lost, or deemed not necessary for a soldier like me to learn.

No, it's tall, and you bake it in a taller pan.

[It's hard to describe cake when she doesn't have one to show and asking the Agrii would probably result in some sort of nightmare creation. Quite possibly even something like a dessert pizza, although Wanda doesn't know that exists.]

Not everyone likes to sing, but there must be someone here who knows the American birthday song and can teach us.

[A taller pan? Oh Cobb was right. Lauri-Ell does need to learn about cooking. Damn, how does she do that? Well, she'll figure it out.]

Are you not American? You seem to speak the same language as the other humans.

I'm Sokovian but I speak English too.

[Hence the accent, although she supposes to an alien, all of the various English accents must not mean very much.]

[Oh no, Lauri-Ell doesn't know anything about Sokovia. Is the Prince from there too? Even if this Wanda is not from the same world that would make sense, right? What if she is getting this wrong? What if she needs Sokovian traditions?]

It is so strange, all of the variety of peoples Earth has. Kree have less... diversity at this point. Skrull are very different of course. Though I guess I have not met many humans from the Earth in my world.

Humans have multiple languages?
